Meaning:   possibly from 'ngarradan' - Wiradjuri for 'bat' (Wiradjuri by Dianne Hosking and Sally McNicol, AIATSIS 1993)
Origin:   Probably named after the grazing run 'Naradhan' which was held in 1866 by Michael James Cummins and consisted at the time of 50,000 acres and had a grazing capability of 4000 sheep.
