Description:   Village on Mount Wilson about 9 km E of Bell.
Origin:   Named by newly appointed Surveyor General P.F. Adams while visiting staff surveyor E.S. Wyndham's survey camp at Waterfall Creek, Mt. Wilson, in March, 1868. Named after John Bowie Wilson (1820-1883) M.L.A. Minister for Lands, New South Wales. (Currey S H, `Mount Wilson`, p. 27).
