Description:   A town about 11 km NW by W of Wargambegal and about 3 km E by S of Lachlan Trig. Station.
Meaning:   Also: Derived from Wiradhuri and Ngiyambaa 'gajal' for water container with suffix 'lugu' for 'her' or 'his'. (Appleton; 1992).
Origin:   Said to be a corruption of the Aboroginal word 'Kartjellakoo' meaning he had a Coolamon'. A coolamon is a shallow wooden dish.
