Meaning:   From: 'manilla', 'muneela' and 'maneela' for 'winding river' or 'round about'. ((J. Tyrrell; A.E. Martin). Also: from 'munila' for 'winding river'. (McCarthy; 1963).
Origin:   Aboriginal.
History:   'a river of N.S.W., in the district of Liverpool Plains. McKid's house of accommodation is situated here 50 miles from Tamworth'. (Wells.Gaz .p.251).
