Description:   A locality about 3 km WNW of Stony Hill and about 13 km W by S of Wandean Gap. Boundaries and names in Shoalhaven City shown on map GNB3653.
Origin:   Unnamed at the time of subdivision in 1856. Often referred to as "up at the Sassafras" due to the dominant rainforest species, gradually became known as "Sassafras". Western area cEttrema Ck, recorded by James Holman as Yerock Flats 1831 and Larmer 1840 Yarrock.
