Origin:   Tregear was named after the Lethbridge's property in Cornwall of the same name. (Pollon F, 1988, The Book of Sydney Suburbs)
History:   Original land grant made to James Whalan in 1831. Purchased by the Lethbridge family who were related by marriage to Governor King. Property sold to RAAF in 1942 who on sold it in 1951.
