Description:   A perennial stream rising on the eastern slopes of Jerusalem Mountain which is about 8 km. W by S of the town of Main Arm. It rises in Byron Shire and flows generally SE, WSW and South for about 130 km through Lismore City Council to its confluence with the Richmond River at the town of Coraki.
Origin:   Wilsons Creek was named after William Wilson, the first settler in Lismore, in the period 1844-5. (Rich.Twd.Reg.Lib. & Rich.R.Hist.Soc., 1983).
History:   The river was formerly known as the North Arm of the Richmond River, but was changed by the Geographical Names Board in the mid 1970's to Wilsons River, and extended to include the main part of Wilsons Creek.
