Description:   A town about 7 km E of Huntingdon and about 8 km S by W of Pembrooke. Boundaries within the Hastings Council area shown on map GNB3772.
Origin:   Owner of a run in the district (Information from The Beardies Heritage - E.C. Sommerlad. P. 32) It is said that Wauchope was named after Captain Wauch or Wauche, who came to NSW in 1836 and was given a grant of land which he named Wauchhope, to express future hopes of prosperity. (Reed, 1969).
