Description:   The suburb is bounded by Kurrajong Rd to the north, Cabramatta Creek to the east, Camden Valley Way to the south, Cowpasture Rd and Stuart Rd to the west. It is situated about 3km S of Hoxton Park. Boundaries within the Liverpool Council area on map GNB3573.
Origin:   Liverpool Council proposed the new suburb and name on behalf of Long Homes in September 1996. Horningsea Park is being named after a historically significant estate in the area, Horningsea Park House. (See boundaries file GNB3573).
History:   The house was designed by its original owner, Lieutenant Joshua John Moore and was built between 1830 and 1839. The size of the original parcel granted by Governor Macquarie in 1819 was 500 acres.
