Description:   A perennial stream rising about 800m west of Spokes Mountain in Abbotsmith Ridge. It flows generally south for about 38km into the Hastings River at Yarras. It is a northern tributary of the upper part of the Hastings River.
Origin:   Named by Surveyor-General John Oxley in honour of Francis Forbes, who later became first Chief Justice of NSW in the Supreme Court established by Charter in 1823. (Atchison, 1976).
