Origin:   Named after County Antrim in Ireland, the birthplace of the father of Mr R D Wallace who, in illegible handwriting, made the request to the Postal Department.
History:   Originally Toowong meaning Rich, or Fertile but changed because of the confusion with the Brisbane suburb of this name.
