Description:   A town on the Richmond River about 24 km W by S of Lismore Boundaries shown on map GNB3746-2.
Meaning:   Also: said to be link 'dogwood tree' and 'Djanangmum' old Aboriginal name for Casino but to interpret Italian word as 'dogwood tree' wrong. Also: 'boolangel or bylongil' for river oak, Aboriginal names for area (Richmond Tweed REg. Lib. & Richmond River Historical Society. 1983).
Origin:   Aboriginal. For: dogwood tree. (Science of Man). Original spelling Cassino after Monte Cassino in Southern Italy. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library & Richmond River Historical Society. 1983).
History:   Taken up by Clay and Stapleton and named by Clay 'Cassino' after town in Italy. When nearby village named Casino, station renamed Tomki its original Aboriginal name. (Royal Aust. Hist. Society Journal V.44 Pt.3
