Description:   A dam on the Peel River near the locality of Bowling Alley Point, and about 5 km south of Woolomin.
Origin:   The dam is named after the Chaffey family who have done significant work for the district.
History:   Construction of Chaffey Dam commenced in August 1976 and was completed in September 1979. (Maj.Rur.Dams.NSW., Dep. L&WC).
