| Origin: | Aboriginal: from bangalla, a low hill; a kind of palm tree. (Reed 1967) Also: The Bundjalung word for the Bangalow palm is 'bigibin' often seen as 'piccabeen'. Bangalow is not a local Aboriginal word. (Richmond-Tweed Regional Library,1984). |
